Charlie wants to be able to see Kyle, which is sweet. And I’m glad he doesn’t scare him too much. He’s not wild about the barking but I think he may get used to that as well. I took Kyle’s collar off since the jingling was bothering all of us.
Charlie was very good at the vet. He did not like the car ride there, but was happier in his cage. He was able to wedge himself in a corner btwn the litter box and hay manger so I think he liked the lack of mobility. He was also on the floor then. He took a little while to come out from under the dresser, but he did for some cherries.
The new vet was much nicer and we all liked her. Charlie is a little chunky at 4 lbs 14oz and the vet said he should be around 4 8oz. That’s why he had some poo on his butt. I’ll cut down pellets to 1/6 a day and only give him fruit once. She said his hocks are normal and so are the hairs in eyes and that we did a good job on his nails. The black nail is normal too.
Charlie was in the hall a lot looking at the fence we put up and then came out several times to look at Kyle. I left an opening at the bottom of the fence for them to look at each other. Charlie is willing to get really close, but runs away after Kyle makes a noise. It’s so cute though, they both really want to see one another.
Charlie slept in his house a lot today. He also drank more water than i’ve seen him do in awhile. Apparently if mom or I sit behind the door he thinks we’re giving him cherries. Mom had to today because he was pawing at her. He let her pet his back before running under the dresser. Progress!
I lured Charlie into Jason’s room with cherries to say happy birthday to him.
Charlie waited to go sleep in his sandbox until I got up at 11 today. He’s so protective of me when I’m sick. Then I later picked up the sandbox, brought it into the dining room and put it on the table. He hopped out but couldn’t get traction so I picked him up and we sat in Nanny’s chair for a while. I was trying to calm him down so I could look at his heels. He did calm some, but still wanted to get down. I got fur all over me but I loved holding him like that. He bit my jacket and my arm so I gave him some wood to chew on to get out the frustration. Mom held him up so i could see his heels and both have some reddening. I think it’s because of his old litter so it shouldn’t come back once cleared up, but we may need to clip his nails more or get a fluffier blanket in my room for his feet.
While cleaning up some stems tonight, Charlie turned his back on me and then hopped away. I guess he doesn’t like he touching his food while he’s eating. He came looking for me when I was in Jason’s room. He sat under the hall dresser for a while and could see me on the bed. Aw.
I’m sick and constantly washing my hands to keep from infecting Charlie. He knew that something was wrong though and he was fussy most of the day.
His eating habits seem to be back to normal. His butt is kinda dirty even though his feet are clean. We’ll see if the vet says this is b/c he is overweight. We’re gonna be watching Kyle next week and I don’t think Charlie is thrilled about it. I’m gonna let mom handle him mostly though and I’ll spend my time with Charlie. I really got the impression that Charlie understands my speech. He responds to what I say regardless of tone and body language and boy do I feel like he’s a real boy now.
Mom brought up a box of pasta and shook it. Charlie hopped over and tried to immitate the sound with his keys. We think he thought those were what was making the noise. He bucked backwards twice and almost fell over the second time. It was so cute. A shower cap fell into the tub and made a racket. Charlie zoomed into the hall to find out what the noise was. Attack bunny! Soon he calmed down and went back into my room though.
I bought too much kale again. His pee’s turning red-orange like last time he had kale. Boy does he love the stuff though. I colored some easter eggs for him too.
