Charlie still doesn’t like the curly parsley, but will eat it once he’s eaten everything else. he’s been drinking a lot lately so I’ve been putting an ice cube in his water dish in the afternoon.
I had to put Charlie’s food container down on the floor and he tried to open the lid. He knew what was inside. I’m gonna move food shopping from mon to tues since they don’t seem to have such great stock on mondays. The new litter has been a success and we’ve switched over to it completely save for a liner of the outside initially.
Charlie was pretty tame today. I lured him into mom’s room with carrots but he didn’t stay long. He’s still following me around a lot.
Trying to keep Charlie more entertained. Lat night he was manic. Once I go to sleep, however, he’s fine on his own and sleeps, watching me. It’s 8pm to 2am that I have to worry about. He knawed on the dresser tape once, but then gave up. Otherwise he was good tonight. We lost power for over an hour in the evening. I was so pissed I still can’t stand it. The temp only got up to 80 though and I gave Charlie an ice pack wrapped in a cloth diaper. He liked chewing on the diaper.
Charlie was quite clingy today and he’s still getting bored when there’s no more food to eat. Tonight he decided to attack his tube.
Mom helped change my sheet today and Charlie was fussing and grunting for a while until he settled down under the dresser. Then we wanted to distract him in the evening so mom put a sheet on floor. He sniffed it, chewed on it, hopped on it and tried to walk up it when I draped it over his stool. It kept him busy for half an hour.
I had to get up to stop Charlie from eating the paint on the dresser so I tried sanding it, but I was3worried the paint flakes could be toxic, so I just put duct tape on the edge. I hope that stops him somewhat. He still tries to go for the carpet by the window but stops instantly if I give him veggies. Message? I never realized how loud he chews. I was trying to record music and I was afraid his loud chews would get picked up.
Charlie woke me up at 7:30 chewing on carpet again and I caught him trying to do it several times today. Why does he insist on it? I trimmed some of the plants in his garden, it got a little unruly. The new seeds I planted are already sprouting and the curly parsley that was not existent a few weeks ago has grown. I guess it just took longer.
Got Charlie into his carrier both times pretty easily. As long as he gets a fight in he seems willing to get in. His weight is around 4 10 or 11 still so it’s holding stable with this diet. He doesn’t have any dirty spots either so I think it’s good enough for him.
Jason was eating grapes this morning and when i asked him if Charlie could have one, Charlie ran right over to him. I broke one in half and let him have it. After moving to his house he gobbled it right up. Later Jason was moving my chair back into my room and Charlie was supervising! He ran out into the hall and followed right behind him the whole way. He probably thinks it’s his chair.
The new litter box concept is going well. I just have to keep putting hay on top of his poop piles. Believe it or not, that’s easier than what I did before. This morning at 6:30, Charlie thumped loudly. Dad got up to go golfing and Charlie must have heard him. I guess he’s not used to noise that early. He calmed down pretty quickly though. Mom brought in a paper for me this evening while I was napping and Charlie started to attack her, but then took the paper from her and started playing with it. All he needs is a distraction…
