I was out a lot of today and I think Charlie missed me. He’s been brushing up against me and sitting next to me a lot lately. His fur feels so nice, I told him to keep it up! I pulled our biggest carrot out of the garden today and it was thinner than my pinky and pale. Oh well, at least we get the greens. I deduced that the problems I’ve been having with my pumpkins are due to slugs. I need to get some seaweed to keep them away.
Charlie was very good downstairs today. He really likes sleeping under the end table by the window next to the plush pineapple.
Charlie spent a while exploring mom’s room when she was moving the furniture about. He didn’t even seem to mind her presence there.
When cleaning the litter box, Charlie got under the shelves and then refused to come out. He was grunting and everything. There’s nothing good or bad under there but I don’t want him getting stuck under there. He didn’t beg for food today except once at 1:30am.
I got to cuddle with Charlie a lot today. Bunny hugs! He’s totally fine with intimate contact now, as long as I don’t touch his feet. I felt like every time I turned around today he was begging for food. Maybe he was, maybe I’m just low on food, I don’t know. Mom even remarked at how Charlie just follows right behind me wherever I go. He’s my little spotted shadow.
Charlie still had veggies when I got up this morning. That’s not like him, maybe he slept a lot. I think I must have kicked Thumper onto the floor and closed Charlie’s cage door in the process. When I got up Charlie was chewing on Thumper’s head and had pulled out a lot of fur, but you can’t really tell. I didn’t yell, I just put him back on the cage, since he really is Charlie’s toy. He did some runs and then started chewing on plastic at 1:45am so I told him to go in the litter box and when he came out I’d feed him. He prompted waited on his placemat once he came out. So don’t tell me he doesn’t understand me.
Oh is he soft when he sits on my foot. Charlie liked exploring mom’s room when she had the ironing board in there. He ate a lot of the red pepper I bought too.
Charlie nipped at my foot this morning because I was talking to dad and not getting his food. So fussy. He’s seemed to have learned the new food times and is content to wait until just then to ask. We snuggled in the evening and he purposely laid down next to his beanie dog and my hands. He totally grooms his plushies too. That’s just adorable to watch.
We saw big bunnies in Flushing and Jason said that Charlie was running all over upstairs and came in his room twice. He continued to do so later in the day and I think it was because all of our doors were open. The weather was a bit cooler and so he seemed more active, just like a lot of the animals at the zoo. The bunnies there had really dirty feet, but they live in the dirt, so maybe bunnies just don’t clean the bottoms of their hind feet.
He decided that he liked to chew on a table pad from the dining room that was on mom’s floor. She had an extra so I put it in my room. I also fixed up the cage after cleaning it on friday. He hopped inside and checked it out. It’s a bit different now, but I think he likes it. Brought Charlie downstairs and Jason helped catch him. He settled down pretty quickly and slept most of the time down there, under tables.
