Charlie’s the mellowest he’s been in ages and even Bella has stopped nipping for attention. Though she did stick her nose into the treat container and helped herself to one this morning.
Yet another litter box arrangement debuted this week. So far the results are good, poop and pee in the boxes, not the blanket. Bella seems to approve, but she’s still keen on digging at the blanket.
She’s also ripped up all the posters I had stuck in the back of my closet. I’ve had to add new ones for her to tear at. I don’t know what she thinks she’s doing in there, but at least it keeps her out of trouble!

Charlie actually let mom pet him for several minutes. He even snuggled into her! Maybe he’s finally won her over. 3 years is not too bad a record. He’s also been letting me pet him for extended periods. What a sweetie!
I’ve realized that Charlie & Bella can recognize certain words and phrases, so I have to be careful what I say. “Hungry” means “food” to Charlie. He already knew what
“pellets” meant, and I think Bella finally gets “Not for bunnies” means that I’m not giving her some of what I’m eating.
I still don’t know why, but my buns love rubbery stuff. Charlie was caught eating a rubber band in the closet (he only got half of it) and last week he chewed up a printer cable. Why, Charlie, why?? The rubber band’s no big deal (it’s natural, it’ll break down) but the wire has electronics in it and he could get shocked or worse.

While out for the day, Charlie proved that he can still hold his own when it comes to destruction. He managed to get behind my desk, chewed a hole through a bag and bit a wire several times. He’s fine, but unfortunately the wire is caput! I’ll have to replace it, but more importantly I learned that Charlie can be just as destructive as Bella when he wants to be.
If you’re wondering how I knew it was Charlie, that’s because of the wire breaks. They were just nibbles and if Bella had at them, they’d be chewed clean through. Plus, I saw Charlie go over to the spot he snuck past earlier and found it was closed for business.

Bella’s nail-clipping day came up last week and she was not a happy bunny. She flinches every time I try to clip. Her long fur keeps getting caught in the clip so I’m wetting it down with one hand, clipping with another, and holding the paw with another… wait that’s too many hands isn’t it?
We had a nice big clean on Monday so the room should be nice for about another 2 days or so. Then it’ll be a manageable mess for another couple of weeks.
Charlie’s birthday is coming up on the 12th, I can’t believe my little guy’s going to be 4! That makes him 28 in rabbit years. Wait, that means he’s older than I am! (Don’t tell him or he’ll start bossing me around!)
