My four Kronen-buns are all dressed up for Halloween as the Justice League this year. Charlie is Batman (he already has the ears and mask), Butterscotch is the Flash, Piper is Supergirl and Hershey is the Green Lantern. They all say they want some of the candy for the trick-or-treaters. I know they can smell it though the bags! I told them they’d each get a bunny treat later though.

Piper and Charlie had another meet and greet through fences. Charlie is definitely interested. I’ll try them living in the same room awhile and see how it goes. I’m also going to take a suggestion from one of my bunny friends and sew some of their fur onto a stuffed animal for the other. Both Charlie and Piper like to groom their stuffed friends, so we’ll how they feel about them smelling like their roommate.
Charlie has started making little buzzing noises when he gets excited. I’ve heard other rabbits do it before, but never from Charlie. I guess he’s feeling pretty good! He buzzes and dances around my feet at treat time. What a cute little guy.
We clipped Hershey’s nails this week and he was so well behaved. He always is during nail clipping. He has dark nails so I’m always nervous clipping him. I only took off a little bit but he’s going to the vet in two weeks so they’ll take a little more off for me.

Piper loves sleeping in the end table as much as jumping up on top of it. She uses her mouth to “grab” things and us when they are in her way. She still doesn’t seem to like people food, which is a good thing for a snacker like me! She adores bananas and apple sauce, and always tries to steal the latter from my bowl. She’s very affectionate with her big pink bunny and little Pooh bear, licking them constantly. It’s so sweet.
We brought Charlie down for a meet and greet and they seemed okay with each other, through double fences. She was a little more interested in him than he was in her, but eventually they both lost enough interest to eat their greens and use the litter box. I’ll be trying Piper in the same room with Charlie in a little while and see how that goes. He’s always been an independent little guy, so I don’t think he minds being alone in the meantime. He’s still got me though, whether he likes it or not!

“Hershey & Butterscotch”
With our visitors gone, Piper and the boys have run of the living room. I gave Piper the end table now and she loves it. She likes to sleeps in there and when she stretches out her feet stick out the back since she’s so big. She has a better view now that there isn’t cardboard all around her pen too.
Butterscotch and Hershey are very excited to get a better view of her. Butters says, “If she and Charlie don’t work out, can I have her??” I don’t think Hershey would want to share either of them!
After my Charlie’s initial recovery, I kept giving him Metacam daily, down to 0.4mls. It’s made such a change in him! He’s also been getting glucosamine, but I noticed more of a difference with the Metacam. He’s running back and forth through the hallway and (and this is a big one) has much better litter box habits. Thank you Mary Ann for suggesting this! I just didn’t think that he needed it, but maybe it also helps with his sore hocks. Keep on flying Charlie!

Sadie bunny is going home later today and my boys will get some of their living room back! They have to share it with Piper, but I don’t think they’ll mind. Butterscotch is at the fence most of the day looking at her. “Can I keep her?” You’ll have to take that up with Charlie, Butters!

Little Sadie is loving the couch now. She spent most of the evening up there last night. She digs at the sheet on top (that’s why it’s there!) and hopped up to the top and looked out the window. We don’t have a very interesting street, but hey, it’s still outside goodness. She even, eventually, loafed up next to me and let me pet her. Sadie doesn’t stay dormant for long, but when she does, she’s simply adorable.

Sadie bunny has slightly bigger digs now that there’s one less bun in the room. She has couch access now, but only when I’m in there with her. I thought she would be running all over the couch, which she did a few times, but mostly she wanted to be under the couch, digging at cardboard. She’s got cardboard all over her pen to chew on. It’s her favorite toy!
Last night I was having some graham crackers in Piper’s pen and she came over to see what I had. She was sniffing all over and I figured I’d let her take a nibble of the cracker. A few sniffs and she turned her head away. Then she came back in my lap to try and eat the bag they came in. She was more interested in a plastic bag than a cracker! I didn’t let her eat the bag BTW.

“Butterscotch & Hershey”
Matilda bunny went home today, so now we’re down to just 5 bunnies in the house, for a few days at least. Sadie will be getting a slightly larger pen, and the humans will be getting some of their hallway back.
Last night when I came downstairs, my Butterscotch was laying up on the chair, fast asleep. Hershey was underneath the chair and then I saw him flop over. It only could have been cuter if they were both snuggled together on top of the chair. Hershey isn’t as big a fan of going up onto furniture.

Matilda is nearing the end of her stay here at Kamp Kronenberg. It’s been such a pleasure to have her. She’s a real sweetie! Lops seem to be that way. Something in their temperament is generally calmer than the “up-ears” rabbits I’ve known.
Sadie dumped pellets quite loudly twice last night. She was throwing her bowl around. After fixing it twice, I left it and she didn’t do it again. I was going to just leave if she did. Maybe she’s trying to send a message. It wouldn’t be the first time in this house that a bunny preferred the floor to a bowl!

Sadie was in the kitchen with me again yesterday. She was mad she couldn’t go under the table, but I can only let her go where it’s safe when I can’t watch her every move. She thumped at me in indignation. Later on she thumped at the toaster oven ticking too. Thumps are all purpose!
My mom made a noise downstairs last night that had Sadie, Piper and Butterscotch thumping. Hershey never thumps at things and Matilda didn’t seem fazed. Fortunately everyone calmed down pretty quickly. When Piper first came downstairs, she was afraid of the microwave. She still startles at new noises. It’s funny since she’s so big, but she’s really just a baby so everything is new to her.
