“Lily”

“Fulton”

“Butterscotch & Hershey”

We had some fireworks in the neighborhood around midnight last night, but the rabbits didn’t seem to mind too much. It wasn’t anywhere as bad as on the Fourth of July, but there was one really loud one. My brother thought it sounded like an M-80. Bunnies say, “it’s too cold out there for fireworks, come inside for a snuggle!”

My dad gave Fulton a cookie last night and he jumped up on the couch with him too. He’s such a sweet boy. He really didn’t want to go home this morning. Poor little guy, didn’t want to leave his camp friends! My brother and I were playing a board game in his pen yesterday when he gave my brother a shock. He sneaked behind him and put his paws on his back. Boy did my brother shriek! Good thing he didn’t try and bite him! I rewarded Fulton with lots of petting after that.

Lily yawned like a lion last night. She’s certainly got the fluffy mane of one. After Fulton left this morning, we’ve let Butterscotch and Hershey into the other half of the living room to run around. They both went to see Lily and she didn’t seem to mind the attention. At one point, Butters lied down under the coffee table and Lily up against the fence between them. So far Hershey has been behaving too.

“Lily”

“Fulton”

“Bella & Charlie

Last night Lily was a very busy bunny. I was watching her on the webcam after I put the downstairs bunnies “to bed” and suddenly she erupted into a series of bunny runs and binkies. It was even loud enough for me to hear! She’s not too active during the day when I’ve seen her, so I guess she exercises at night. Go girl, go!

Fulton is finally spending more time on the couch. Now he jumps up whenever someone comes in to beg for his treat. He came over to say hello to Lily in the afternoon and they were both a little shy about it. Aw! Neither has a bunny friend at home so maybe they like having another member of their species to communicate with here. I always try and encourage bunny socialization.

These two buns are the fluffy versions of my Charlie and Bella. One white girl, and one spotted boy. Fulton is a lot like Charlie in personality, but Lily is nothing like my Bella. She’s a bit timid and nice, while Bella is fearless, very active and doesn’t appreciate needless bothering. Lately, Bella has been digging in the litter box / pad area every night. She’s been waking me up at 8:45 everyday. I guess she wants me to get up early. Today, actually, was the first day in a while that she did NOT dig during the night. I guess she was trying to be nice and let me sleep, so she started digger AFTER I woke up!

“Fulton”

“Lily”

Jeffrey went home last night, and was very happy to see his family. We’ll miss the little piggy, but know he’ll be happy to be home with his pet dog.

Last night my brother pet Fulton for a very long time. He purred a lot and at one point my brother got up to leave and Fulton didn’t want him to stop. Aw! So, he stayed a bit longer and Fulton was happy. My brother likes to get a bunny to lay down, but Fulton was a tough cookie. He’s stubborn, just like my Charlie.

Fluffy Lily arrived this morning. I always love seeing her again. She’s by far the fluffiest rabbit we’ve had here. I’ve only seen more fluff in angora rabbits. She’s a little skittish so she was running around a bit earlier today, but seems generally satisfied with her accommodations. Hershey came over to see her and Fulton even slunk out his little cubby and came over to the fence to say “hello” to Lily.

“Fulton”

“Jeffrey”

Fulton runs over every time we come in for a treat. He dances around us just like my Charlie. He’s so much like him, in manner and appearance. When the mail came this morning he got a little frightened and started thumping, but a cookie quickly calmed him down. Fortunately Butterscotch didn’t receive the call and start thumping himself. He’s a sympathetic thumper.

Butterscotch and Hershey are happy to have more space back. They’re still confined to the dining room, but they can see into the living room now and upstairs a little as well. Hershey is definitely happier when he knows what’s going on in the house.

Jeffrey came over for a snuggle last night and liked running circles around me on the floor. I guess I make a good obstacle course for a guinea pig. Best part is not having to worry about being nipped under my legs like I do with rabbits. Jeffrey’s not as impatient about getting obstacles out of his way!

Yesterday I had to replace the power supply on my brother’s computer so he borrowed my laptop for a little while. He complained there was bunny fur in the keyboard. Oops! Occupational hazard I’m afraid.

“Motley Chue”

Motley Chue went home this morning, so now we’re down to 5 rabbits a guinea pig. Fulton has been eating all of his greens and most pellets. He always comes over to anyone begging for treats. He’s a really good beggar! When Motley left we made pens bigger and now he can see more. He was going over to Jeffrey this morning and saying hello. I’m glad neither is afraid of the other.

Jeffrey is pretty happy no matter what we do. Now he’s got another bunny to talk to, even if they don’t’ really understand each other. he does have this habit of tipping his pellets out of his bowl and hay out of a basket, but I’m used to much bigger messes than that. My family has really fallen in love with Jeffrey. We’ve never really spent any time with guinea pigs before and he’s such a sweetie. He’s definitely welcome back any time! h

“Fulton”

“Jeffrey”

“Motley Chue”

Yesterday we moved Jeffrey over a little to make room for Fulton. He’s next to Butterscotch and Hershey now and they both want to really see him. Hershey stretched up over the cardboard between them and Butterscotch is right at the plastic window saying “hello.” Jeffrey is right next to our Christmas tree now and his favorite new place to sleep is right near it. It’s so cute. He’s also in the line of sight from upstairs, so now Charlie and Bella can see him from the top of the stairs. I don’t think they know what to make of the little guy.

Fulton arrived in the afternoon and initially was not really interested in the other rabbits and guinea pig. He spent most of the day sleeping in his favorite spot, the far end of the coffee table. He did come out in the evening to see Motley and Jeffrey, but he was mostly interested in me coming over to give him his veggie treats. He came up on the couch once too looking for treats.

Motley wanted to see Fulton, but since he was hiding most of the day she had to settle for Jeffrey. He was making little *week* noises this morning when I came to see them.

With all of the new activity in the house Butterscotch hopped onto the chair in his pen to get a better look, and wound up falling asleep up there. We just happened to see him loafed up on top of the chair, fast asleep in the afternoon. Is there anything more adorable than that?

“Chase”

“Fulton”

I lay down for a little nap on the couch last night, and who should join me up there, but Fulton. He hopped up next to my head, so I started petting him. He stayed there for quite a while and actually lay down himself. It was a bunny snuggle up on the couch. Can I keep him? Later that night I caught him doing runs on the webcam, and using the couch as an obstacle course. He’s been eating almost all of his greens and about half of his pellets (and all of his treats) too. I’m sure gonna miss him when he heads home tonight, but Rusty is coming to keep Chase and me company. Chase met Rusty when she was here in June so she might remember him. I hope they get along as well as Chase and Fulton have. These two are such well behaved sweethearts, my rabbits could take pointers (Sorry Charlie & Bella!).

“Fulton”

“Chase”

Last night I gave Fulton some metacam in a little dish, like I used to give Bella. He eventually lapped it up. I don’t know if it did anything, but he ate all of his greens overnight. Maybe it just took him a couple of days to get his appetite back. That often happens with the rabbits who come to visit. Fulton came up on the couch again withe me last night for petting, and with my mom as well. Chase and I had a nice time on the floor yesterday. She’s so sweet, she’s like a little bunny toy. I certainly don’t mind having her here for more than a week!

“Chase”

“Fulton”

I spent a very long time petting Chase on the floor last night. One hand on a bunny, another on my laptop. It’s a nice way to spend an evening. Then I went over to Fulton’s pen and sat on the couch. Instantly Fulton jumped up next to me, so I started petting him too. He stayed up there and let me pet him for half an hour! No bunny except for Budgie ever let me do that, and Fulton even lay down for a bit while I pet him. It was so nice! My brother was a little jealous because he spent the whole evening on that couch the night before and he never came up there once.

We gave Fulton some more meds yesterday evening, and he was more receptive to them. He ate almost all his greens last night and some pellets. HE still loves my biscuits though, so I’m glad I have those for him to eat. He’s probably filling up on them instead of his pellets, but at least it’s getting something in him!

“Fulton”

“Chase”

Fulton and Chase arrived yesterday and are our last bunnies of the summer. They seem to like one another. Fulton likes to sleep under a cardboard box next to the fence, and Chase right up against it. They can see each other through the window, but only approached one another a couple of times. I think Fulton is fine looking at her from afar.

Chase is eating great, and always up for a petting. I got her purring for a while yesterday. Fulton has been eating about half of his food. He always eats his papaya and bunny cookies. We medicated him last night to keep his appetite going, but he was not happy. We tried doing on the couch and he ran away, so we had to bring him in the kitchen, He fought me on the gas meds, but took the other ones without much fuss. I wonder if he just didn’t understand what we were trying to do. It was not easy to catch him though, and it stressed him out, so if we do medicate again, it’ll only be once a day.
