Finola finally warmed up to me. I spent some time with her last night petting her and she purred for me. She’s a real sweet bun, but a little skittish. She runs under a box when someone startles her, and sleeps there most of the day. When she feels comfortable she will come out and sniff around. She’s just as curious as the next bun!

Sadie has been a crazy little girl! She threw her pellet dish into her greens bowl which was on the other side of her pen. My brother heard her clinking the dishes and took it out for her. She answered him with some aggressive flops. Later, she was destroying a basket which had hay in it. The hay is all over the floor, so I guess she’d rather play with the basket!

While Sadie’s antics were going on, Hudson came over to watch. She doesn’t seem to mind how crazy she is, which is good. She’s got a few crazy little siblings at home, so perhaps she’s just used to it. She’s heading back home today and I’m certainly going to miss her!

Finola arrived last night. She’s a white bun with some cream coloring just like my Bella. It’s uncanny how similar their faces look. Color and build. They could be sisters! She’s already made our den her own, camping out in front of the TV. I hope she likes what dad is watching!

Sadie wasn’t too thrilled about having to share the spotlight with another bunny, but she’ll manage, as long as she gets her treats.

Hudson spent our time together last night sleeping under the coffee table. At one point she had eyes closed and her head leaning over to one side. Then her ears started wiggling and mouth twitching which meant she was dreaming. It was so cute.

Big Hudson bunny often slowly scans the room, moving her head in one direction and then back. She’s an albino so her vision isn’t great and she does this to get a better picture of the room. When she does it though, it reminds me of a long necked dinosaur moving around. She’s such a gentle giant that you want to hug and kiss, but I know better than to do that to a rabbit! Of my own four, only two let me kiss them, and no hugs are allowed. One handed pets are okay though. Sheesh, it’s tough remembering all the bunny rules!

Little Sadie has done a good job of tearing up all of the magazines in her pen and chewing down the boxes and baskets. She doesn’t like it when I try and clean up there though. She runs around and thumps at me. Her little bunny temper tantrums don’t last though, and she’s back to flopping down the floor for a nap.

We’ve got a house full of Easter bunnies again this year! They all say that because it’s Easter Sunday, they get special treats for being bunnies. I don’t know what their logic is there, but they’ll probably get a piece of banana out of me. No chocolate eggs though!

Yesterday afternoon, I forgot I left the kitchen gate open and Hershey came hopping into living room. Fortunately, Sadie was asleep under the table so there was no scrapping between bunnies, and Hudson never comes close to the edge of fence. When I got Hershey back over to the dining room, Butters got out. Once they were both back in their room, I went to close the gate only to meet Butters in the kitchen trying to get through to the other side. Smart, sneaky boy!

Hershey was watching Hudson do her evening laps last night. He’s just so fascinated with her. I guess the bigger the bunny, the more he likes her! He probably thinks that he’s about as big as she is. She can be quite tall when she stands on her hind legs. She’s bigger than most small dogs!

Sadie is little running machine! Every couple of hours she gets a burst of speed and circles around her pen. If Hershey hears her, he runs over to the edge of his pen to watch her. He put his nose up against the fence to get the best view possible. Sadie’s a little like him and they’re both quite the speed demons.

I kept the view blocked between Hudson and Sadie most of the day and opened up a window in the evening. Eventually Hudson came into view and Sadie rushed over to see. She was so happy to meet her. Best of all she didn’t scratch at the plastic which might have scared Hudson away.

Sadie is a little noisy, since she’s a destruct-a-bunny, so I give her soft things to destroy so she didn’t disturb her roommates. She’s currently chewing on a pair of cushions, a few books and a sea grass basket. Those will probably last only a couple of days before they need replacing.

Hudson is getting a new roommate today. Little Sadie bunny is joining us for Easter. I know my boys will be glad to have another girl. They love coming over to the “window” to see Hudson. She doesn’t seem to mind them. She only really notices them when one of them makes a noise chewing on something like cardboard or furniture. I certainly do have two little noisy boys.

Hudson was doing her evening laps around her pen while my brother was visiting her. She even came over and sniffed his shoes. She didn’t seem to mind them. Some other rabbits might have started to chew on the rubber soles, but Hudson is a good girl.

I watched her suck a whole carrot piece into her mouth. It was only about a couple of inches long, quarter inch wide, but she sucked it down like it was a piece of hay! She’s definitely a little hoover! She was taking a bath later it was so cute. She’s got such big ears that she pulls down the side of her face to lick. There isn’t a much sweeter sight in this world than a bunny taking a bath.

Hudson has this yummy hay full of little herb pieces, so I put some of them in a bowl for her. She’s a hungry girl and eats very well, so I thought she’d like a little something different from her pellets and greens. I also gave her a papaya treat that she ate from my hand. She likes to be hand-fed like my Bella. She’s so adorable! And what a sweetie. She’s certainly a gentle giant.

She was doing her laps around the coffee table last night. Hershey spotted her and decided to join in. He ran around the living room a few times, at a slightly faster rate. Hershey’s a speedy little guy. She didn’t seem to mind the running buddy!

Eating Like a Giraffe

Hudson has a peculiar way of eating greens. She hold the piece in her mouth and lifts her head up so that the food gravity-feeds into her mouth. Most other rabbits just munch on a piece and it usually drops to the floor where they have to pick it up again. Hudson keeps all the food in her mouth, making chowing down an easier task. She also looks a little like a giraffe when she’s doing it. It’s adorable. It would be a good skill for a rabbit with a mate who likes to steal their food. “This is mine! Just try and reach it!”

The boys were better behaved yesterday. Hershey didn’t chase Butters around and neither bothered Hudson very much. I guess they’re getting used to her. I know she’s not a fan of little bunnies zipping around her, so she just has two windows where she can see them from her pen. I don’t think she really cares if they’re there or not. Indifference is the bunny equivalent of love!

Welcome Back the Big White Bunny

Hudson the big white bunny is back! She was a little sleepy after the car ride over, so she stayed in her carrier napping for about half an hour once she arrived. After waking up, I put out a plate of greens for her and she ate them all in 10 minutes. Hungry girl! She’s been gobbling down her pellets and any treat that comes her way.

Hudson slept next to a window in the pen for a while and Hershey and Butterscotch came over to say hello. Hershey really likes her, of course. She took a long nap in her carrier in the evening. I guess that’s her lil piece of home.

Charlie and Bella came out into the hall in evening. I’m sure they smelled Hudson. “New bunny in the house!” My Bella is a smaller version of Hudson, so she was probably curious about the other white bunny in the living room.
